又叫毛囊性脓疱疮、浅表性毛囊口炎。表现为毛囊口周围发红，出现有小米到绿豆大小的黄色脓疱，中心有毛发穿出，周边发红，有痒感或灼痛感。数天后，脓疱可变干结痂，脱痂后患处留有白色鳞屑。容易发生在四肢及头皮、小腿等处。

项部硬结性毛囊炎
又称瘢痕疙瘩性毛囊炎、发际疮和项部毛疮等。多发于中老年男性，尤其是患有痤疮及瘢痕疙瘩体质者容易患本病。病初起时，项部发际处出现红色小丘疹或小脓疱，互相融合，逐渐发展成瘢痕疙瘩性硬结，有圆形、卵形和不规则形。一般发于项后毛发部位，患处头发稀少或完全脱落，病程缓慢，常可数年不愈。

穿掘性毛囊周围炎
又称头项部穿掘性蜂窝组织炎，多发于青年男性。初起时头皮部、尤其是后头部可发生黑头粉刺状毛囊炎和毛囊周围炎。尔后，逐渐增大变深，成为黄豆大，甚至桃核大的炎性结节，大多数可变成有波动的脓肿，破溃后成为数个瘘孔，有脓汁流出。病程较长，持续不断，有的连续数年，有的可拖延10年以上。

脱发性毛囊炎
又叫羊胡子疮，是发生在男性胡须部位的毛囊炎，唇周及颏部多见。初起时可出现肿胀性红斑、毛囊性丘疹或脓疱，病损处的中央有胡须贯穿。脓疱破后，经干燥结痂，痂脱后痊愈，但可反复出现新疱，病损还可在眉毛、睫毛、阴毛和腋毛等处造成危害。
毛囊炎患者的五大饮食禁忌
忌吃辛辣食物
辛辣食物有促进血液循环，助长体内湿热的作用，疖、痈患者体质多湿多热，辛辣食物入口后会使火上浇油，使炎症扩散，当忌辣椒、辣油、咖喱、川椒、韭菜、蒜苗、芥末等辛辣食物。
忌饮酒
酒有助长湿热的作用，故本病患者不宜饮用，包括白酒、葡萄酒、黄酒、啤酒及酒酿等。特别是在毛囊炎、疖、痈初起阶段，饮酒会使疖肿加速增大，如不及时用药控制，可导致细菌扩散。
忌服辛热发散类药物
桂枝、肉桂、附子、干姜、苍术等辛热发散药物本身性温助热，易使热毒壅于肌肤;本病采用发汗药易伤津耗阴，使机体抵抗力下降，导致本病迁延难愈，或易复发。
忌食油煎、油炸、烧烤食物
油煎、油炸食物难以消化，并能助长湿热，使湿热雍滞而疖肿不易消退，故炸猪排、炸牛排、油氽花生、油氽豆板、油炸鸡、烤羊肉等品不宜食用，患者最好用清蒸、炖、煮、炒的烹调方法所制的食物。
忌吃补养类食品
羊肉、牛肉、猪肉及动物内脏具有补养作用;人参、鹿茸、、海马、肉桂、阿胶、鹿角胶、龟板胶等名贵中药分别有补气、补阳、补血、补阴的作用。患本病者虽然有虚弱之人，但仍为湿热内蕴，热毒缠身，上述食品用后会助火毒之势，应辨证确属虚弱者方可用之。
